Bleap is one of the few crypto cards whose core fee promises check out: free issuance, no monthly fee, Mastercard rate with no FX markup, and free ATM withdrawals up to 400 EUR/month, all debited from a genuinely non-custodial MPC wallet with a named Cypriot EMI issuer and a verifiable MiCA CASP license. The catch is that the famous 'up to 20% cashback' is a lattice of category promos with small eligible-spend caps (realistic value is roughly 1% on everyday spend up to 3,000 EUR/month), the 2% groceries and dining rate already expired in May 2026, rates can change without notice, and the physical card is referral-only. Availability is EEA plus Switzerland only, with 45 excluded nationalities and some EEA countries still on a waiting list.

Physical card is gated behind the referral program: 'There are no alternative methods to obtain a physical card at this time' - while the card page and homepage FAQ market it as a normal order ('Physical cards ship within 2 working days').
Stale marketing: homepage FAQ still advertises '2% at restaurants and supermarkets', but that rate was a promotion that expired 31/05/2026 per the operator's own Fair Usage Limits table; the live cashback page shows 1%.
'Unlimited cashback' headline contradicts the cashback T&C fair-usage caps; the 20% category rates are capped on tiny eligible amounts (e.g. 20% of max 20 EUR/month on Netflix = ~4 EUR cashback; ChatGPT ~6 EUR/month).
+6 more red flags - expand before loading funds
Cashback rates and limits changeable 'at any time, without prior notice', with reversals, clawbacks and recovery 'through linked payment methods, direct debit, set-off against other balances, or other lawful means'.
Irrevocable direct-debit mandate over the self-custodial wallet: Bleap and Unlimit can collect transaction amounts, network charges, chargebacks and shortfalls from the wallet via smart-account permissions.
Savings vaults ('Up to 8% AER' on homepage) are explicitly 'not regulated under MiCA and do not benefit from MiCA investor protections'; homepage hero (8%), FAQ (4% APY USD) and other operator pages (~3.83% AER) disagree on the headline rate.
Homepage claims 'issued under a MiCA license'; the Latvijas Banka CASP license covers crypto exchange services only - card issuance and e-money sit with Unlimit EU Ltd in Cyprus, a different regulated entity.
EEA availability is incomplete despite EU passporting: some EEA residents see a 'Coming soon' label (Italy, Spain cited in the July 2026 help article), and US nationality is excluded.
Trustpilot 3.4/5 'Average' versus a curated 4.8/4.5 testimonial wall on the homepage; a Reddit user reports disappointment after discovering the cashback caps.

Overview
Bleap is a London-founded (2023, by former Revolut employees [1]) crypto money app built around a non-custodial Mastercard debit card. The card is issued by Unlimit EU Ltd, an electronic money institution licensed by the Central Bank of Cyprus [5], while the app, wallet and exchange run on Bleap SIA, a Latvian company holding MiCA CASP license No. 27-55/2026/14 granted by Latvijas Banka on 25 June 2026 [12], passported across the EEA. The UK parent, Bleap Ltd (company 14918472), is active at Companies House since June 2023 [13]. The card debits your own MPC smart-account wallet directly rather than an operator balance: the terms state "Your Bleap Wallet is non-custodial. You control the private keys. Assets are not held by Bleap or Unlimit" [5]. That architecture is the product's core appeal, and it is verifiable rather than just marketed.
The caveat to that self-custody framing is the card's mechanics: every use authorises an "irrevocable" direct debit from the wallet for the transaction, network charges, reversals and shortfalls [5]. Your funds are yours, but you have granted a standing debit permission to make the card work, and the savings vaults route funds into third-party DeFi strategies that Bleap itself flags as outside MiCA investor protection [11].
Fees & Costs
The fee list is the strongest part and it holds up in the binding terms, not just marketing: "Cards are free. Bleap charges no issuance, monthly, usage or exchange fees for Card activity", FX converts at the Mastercard network rate with no Bleap markup, and the homepage confirms free ATM withdrawals up to 400 EUR per month [1][5]. SEPA deposits and withdrawals price at 0% processing [6]. What can still cost you: Mastercard scheme fees, merchant surcharges and ATM operator fees, plus a spread on crypto buy, sell and bridge transactions inside the app [5][6]. Spending limits are generous for this product class: 10,000 EUR per transaction, 15,000 EUR daily and 30,000 EUR monthly, against an ATM cap of 3 withdrawals and 400 EUR per month [8].
KYC & Onboarding
Full identity verification in the app is required before any card is issued, advertised as under five minutes [1]. The card is restricted to residents of the EEA and Switzerland, and the eligibility page lists 45 excluded nationalities regardless of residence, including the United States, Turkey and the UAE [7]. Notably, card access inside the EEA is not uniform: the help center says some residents, citing Italy and Spain as examples, may not yet have the card feature enabled [7]. Compare the funding and verification flow with other cards in our /cards/ table before committing time to onboarding.
Rewards
Cashback is paid in USDC and credited as real spendable balance: 1% base on eligible card spending, capped at 500 EUR per transaction and 3,000 EUR per month of eligible spend [3][4]. Three boosted categories sit on top: 3% on Uber, Bolt and food delivery, and 20% on a list of named subscription merchants, each with small per-merchant monthly caps that make the 20% headline worth a few euros a month in practice [3]. Two honesty notes: the homepage FAQ still advertises the expired 2% promo rate (per the terms table it ended 31 May 2026) [4], and rates are changeable "without prior notice" with clawback rights [4]. The caps-and-tiers math is documented in our cashback guide.
Coins & Top-up
Funding is genuinely flexible and free on the documented rails: SEPA arrives as EURe, USD transfers as USDC at 1:1, Mexican pesos and Brazilian reais come in through CLABE and Pix rails via a partner named Avenia, and crypto can be pulled from a linked wallet or sent manually on Solana, Base and Arbitrum, all at the documented 0% funding fee [1][10]. Anything other than EURe, USDC or USDT lands in a trading balance and must be converted before spending [10]. There is no Lightning support. One honesty note on the funding maths: spreads can apply to in-app crypto purchases and sales [6], so "no fees" is exactly true for card payments and SEPA, less exactly true if you buy crypto inside the app.
Reliability & Red Flags
The structural checks pass: a named Cypriot EMI issuer [5][14], a real MiCA license in a public regulator register [12], live apps (iOS 1.56.0 updated 3 November 2026), and no security incidents found in this review. The red flags are commercial. First, the physical card exists only behind the referral program: a friend must sign up, pass KYC and make three 10 EUR+ card payments, and the help center states plainly that "There are no alternative methods to obtain a physical card at this time" [9], even though the card page markets it as a normal order [2]. Second, the cashback headline is shakier than it looks: the live page shows 1% for restaurants and supermarkets [3], the homepage FAQ still advertises 2% [1], and the terms table shows that 2% was a promotion that expired on 31 May 2026 [4]. Third, "unlimited cashback" sits next to a fair-usage table that caps base 1% cashback at 3,000 EUR per month of eligible spending and caps 20% categories at tiny amounts, around 4 EUR monthly for Netflix [3][4]. Rates can change "without prior notice" with clawback rights [4], a reality one Reddit reviewer ran into after the marketing set their expectations [16]. Fourth, the savings product is unregulated and its advertised rate varies from 8% on the homepage hero to about 4% in the FAQ [1][11]. Trustpilot sits at 3.4/5, "Average" [15], against a curated 4.8 testimonial wall [1].
Verdict
As a free spending tool, Bleap is one of the most honest fee structures in the EEA crypto card market: no monthly fee, no issuance fee, Mastercard-rate FX, free ATMs to 400 EUR monthly, and a real non-custodial wallet behind the card [1][5]. The cashback is real USDC but modest in practice, roughly 1% on everyday spend with narrow 20% category windows [3][4], and you should treat the physical card, the promo rates and the savings yields as changeable at any time [4][9][11]. Keep balances in the wallet rather than the unregulated vaults, and read our cashback caps guide before counting on any boosted rate in a budget [4].
What works
Genuinely near-zero fee structure, confirmed in the binding Cardholder Terms: 'Cards are free. Bleap charges no issuance, monthly, usage or exchange fees for Card activity'
0% FX markup - Mastercard network rate passed through with no Bleap fee
Non-custodial MPC smart-account wallet; insolvency of Bleap or Unlimit does not touch wallet assets
Named, verifiable issuer (Unlimit EU Ltd, Central Bank of Cyprus EMI license 115.1.3.7) and Bleap SIA's own MiCA CASP license 27-55/2026/14 in the Latvijas Banka register
Cashback in USDC to your own on-chain wallet, automatic with no opt-in
Instant virtual card with Apple Pay and Google Pay; broad funding (SEPA, USD transfer, MXN/BRL rails, Solana/Base/Arbitrum crypto)
Generous spending limits for the class: 10,000 EUR single / 15,000 EUR daily / 30,000 EUR monthly
What to watch
Physical card obtainable ONLY by referring a friend who completes KYC and makes three 10 EUR+ card payments - no direct order option
Headline 'up to 20% cashback' rests on category promos with small caps (Netflix ~4 EUR/month max); base rate is 1% capped at 3,000 EUR/month of eligible spend
2% restaurants/supermarkets promo expired 31/05/2026 but homepage FAQ still advertises it
Cashback program fully discretionary: rates changeable without prior notice, clawbacks with set-off recovery
Direct-debit mandate lets Bleap and Unlimit debit the self-custodial wallet for transactions, fees, reversals and shortfalls
Savings vaults (up to 8% AER claimed) are not MiCA-regulated and carry no investor protections; advertised rates are inconsistent across Bleap's own pages
EEA + Switzerland only; 45 excluded nationalities including US and Turkey; card not yet enabled for some EEA residents
Trustpilot sits at 3.4/5 ('Average') against a curated 4.8 testimonial wall; UK App Store shows 4.33

Bleap charges no issuance, monthly, usage or exchange fees for Card activity.' 6.3: 'If you transact in a different currency, the amount is converted at the Mastercard network rate applicable at processing time. Bleap adds no FX markup or fee.' Mastercard scheme/network fees, merchant surcharges and ATM operator fees may still apply. Homepage FAQ: 'ATM withdrawals: free, with a limit of 400 euro per month.' SEPA buy/sell processing fee 0%; a spread may be built into crypto buy/sell/bridge prices (not card payments). The meta-review: what the internet says about Bleap
We do not expect you to trust us. This review is a meta-review: below you see what other review sites claim, what users report on Reddit and forums, and who actually operates Bleap - including the issuing structure behind the card. Every claim links to its source so you can verify it yourself. Our verdict forms from these sources plus our own fact checks - not the other way around.

Who is behind Bleap?
Card programs stand and fall with their operator and BIN sponsor. This is what we could verify - with sources. Confidence: high (checked 2026-11-04).

Legal entity / issuer
Operating entity and card programme: Bleap SIA (Latvia, reg. 40203714425, LEI 2549005P20R5UTQWNB80, Roberta Hirsa iela 1, Riga), MiCA CASP license No. 27-55/2026/14 granted by Latvijas Banka on 25.06.2026 (decision 001.2-01.1/2026/30), passporting to 28 EEA countries from 15.07.2026. Parent: Bleap Ltd (UK, company no. 14918472, incorporated 6 June 2023, London EC2V 6DN, Active at Companies House). Card issuer / EMI: Unlimit EU Ltd (Cyprus, company no. HE 328641, Limassol), Central Bank of Cyprus EMI license 115.1.3.7 (granted 9 July 2018), Mastercard Europe principal member. Brazilian real deposits processed via partner Avenia.
Founded in London in 2023 by former Revolut employees (operator FAQ). Backers include Maven 11, Robot Ventures, Ethereal Ventures and Alliance; homepage shows a Mastercard partnership logo. The MiCA CASP license covers exchange of crypto-assets for funds and for other crypto-assets (MiCAR Art. 3(16)(c)-(d)) - it does NOT cover card issuance, which is why the issuer is Unlimit EU Ltd. Cardholder Terms are governed by Latvian law; issuer matters by Unlimit's terms. The complaints clause references 'Bleap Finance Sp. z o.o.' (Poland) and 'Business Day' is defined by Polish banking days, indicating a Polish group entity also exists. BRL deposits route through external partner Avenia. Terms state 'Bleap and Unlimit reserve the right to terminate this service at all times.'

“The physical Bleap card is available exclusively through the referral program. ... There are no alternative methods to obtain a physical card at this time.”
Watch for the December 2026 sunset: the consumer product is closing. Solid self-custody architecture (card only moves whitelisted tokens from your Safe to settlement, up to a daily limit), but as a spending card it has an end date. Migrate to a partner app (Rebind/Picnic) or another self-custody card before 20 December 2026.

The most mainstream self-custody card: MetaMask wallet spending stablecoins on Linea through a Mastercard program run with Baanx/Monavate, keys stay yours. 1% mUSD cashback on the orderable Virtual card; US and UK sign-ups are paused, Metal (3% tier) paused since June 2026. Verify current availability in-app before ordering.
A genuinely different architecture: keep full self-custody of 250+ assets and spend through a credit line instead of selling - with tiered memberships, travel cashback and premium Visa perks. The risks are equally clear: borrowing costs, portfolio volatility/liquidation risk, and a protection program that was still 'not yet live' at review time.
